Tolkien, Lovecraft, Rothfuss, VanderMeer, King.
But they all pale in comparison to the dream weaver himself, Garth Marenghi.
Do you have any rituals or superstitions when you write?
Yes! When I decided to pursue being an author, I very seriously told myself that I need to do it the right way. Of course this meant - I need to write by the light of a candle dripping blood-red wax onto a skull sitting on a book. Why else write at all?
What hobbies do you have outside of writing?
Magic: the Gathering has been a huge part of my life since I was nine years old. I still try to play at least twice a month.
D&D is a newer love of mine. I play twice a month here as well. I recently ran a Call of Cthulhu campaign for my group.
I love watching and playing baseball. I plan to play in my old timer's league until my body tells me I can't.
Do you play video games?
No, but it's not for lack of wanting. I've got a 9-5, four daughters, and a potential writing career that can only happen after they go to bed.
